I don't use my heel at all, just brake with the very left edge of my foot and roll it over to blip the throttle while braking

The Piloti shoes help a lot.

 

That was the only way I was able to even get close to doing it on track. I bet if I had a wider gas pedal there would be no issue. But I wasn't comfortable thinking about my foot slipping off under heavy braking. Without shoes I can get the ball of my foot on the brake and have just enough space to get my heel over. I definitely am better at getting the revs matched right doing it the "traditional" way.

think, you can put your car on the autotrain out of DC... it goes straight to Sanford FL (20miles from daytona) and drive the unbelievable road course at Daytona
