You have to be very careful with that... The size of the HVAC system is based upon very careful calculations of the ducts, their size, and their placement. You can't just go putting them any old place or it won't work.

There is a relatively new product on the market called High Velocity ducting that uses much smaller ducting; like only three or four inches in diameter. High Velocity fits in tighter spaces and creates a significantly cleaner install. Perfect for older homes.... The only thing is that you would have to rip out EVERYTHING and start over. You are looking at multi-thousands of dollars to do that.

and its loud. In laws just got it. The air through those small holes is rather annoying.

then again, if i can sleep on the runway to the airport, I guess anything is ignorable.

well the hvac looks like it's 90 years old too.

so i'm going to want to replace that just to save on costs

damn, I just wasted a bunch of time looking on redfin for arlington condos... actually looks promising, plenty of 800+ sqft condos for < 450k
