a lot of the allen key holes were stripped so getting some of the nuts off was a pain and took awhile

yeah dude, just buy Windows XP Media Center Edition or Vista and run the media center extender on the 360.. you can even keep the pc in another part of your house... I have a pci wireless card I'm not using anymore

That works or there are some free apps, I've also heard tversity is really good and has a free demo. I personally use mediatomb because my server is a linux box.
