Nope. You can get a DVI to HDMI cable.
It just won't send an audio signal. You will need to run RCA's from your sound card to your tv/receiver.

if you have an xbox or ps3 you can just stream to that with a media server running on any pc. They will play avi (xvid/divx) plus mp4 which includes HD mkvs which you can remux into mp4 in like a minute or two.
