they sure do. Just be careful of the non-Apple brand cords. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't.

Right now, the spare is hanging on the oe bracket with an extender on it. All of that is just on the tailgate. From what I understand, it has been that way for long time. The tailgate hinges ain't nothing special. If they can take it, the aftermarket ones should be a-okay.
