If possible, try to get an internship with someone on a military contract. Sometimes they will pay for your clearance and it will open more doors for you and possibly more money.

Military recruiters are idiots. There are certain things that they really need to explain to people. The dude I talked to stressed the wrong things and completely left some ish out. From what I understand, that duty is not voluntary and most of the guys who pull it don't want to be there. DUMB.
