I should say, though, that the light staying on all the time kinda concerns me... That will eventually kill the battery, too. I honestly cannot recall mine doing that. I did have a Python system. Perhaps this is one of the differences?

The light staying on isn't a prob. It's only one led and it should't sap the battery.

Well couldn't get it to work. I'm sure i'm looking at the right manual though... my main problem is that it takes forever to disarm the alarm ( i have to press the disarm button on my remote about 12 times before it disarms)

Sounds like you need a new battery for your fob...
