I think I can fit both my amps and 1 10" in the tool well, what do ya think?

Maybe the car has been sitting in the garage to much lately. I have not driven this car more than a hundred miles since the accident in June.

Be careful that's how mine got sold.

Well, it's one of the things I replace regularly(don't start with "You replace EVERYTHING regularly!").

Gonna be tight, depending on the airspace needed and the amp size. Are you dumping the spare?

1.3 CUFT if to the top depending on the thickness of your 'glass job
WRONG!

That's 2 cu.ft. right there.

After fiberglassing tot he toolwell and subtracting out the displacement of the 2 JL's, I believe I ended up with about 1.7-1.8 cu.ft. of volume. I'll have to find my thread chronicling the entire process.

How dare you question me!

WxLxH = volume.

Including the thickness of the box (avg .75-1.0") minus the volume of the sub the tool well averages 1.3 to 1.5 My enclosure that is not molded to the well measures out to .92. If the sub were installed normally it would about .72 (but then again I have a huge magnet.)

give or take, its still going to be tight to fit the sub and the amps, still would be cool looking!

well the sub will be a Elemental Designs 110v3, it only needs .5 cuft of airspace

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...l=fiberglassing first attempt&st=100

On page 3, there is a link that doesn't work. It had pictures and calculations pertaining to the volume possible in the toolwell. Fiberglass takes up less thickness than MDF. IIRC, the lower part of the toolwell(before the sides go vertical) equals 1 cu.ft. The vertical part, although only a few inches in height, also equates to 1 cu.ft..

something like this:

Using Styrofoam cutouts in the shape of my amps I can mold the fiberglass around them (using more styrofoam to layout the air ducts, too)

4 small fans will blow air over top of each amp and then be exhausted by a port running under the box to the back of the tool well...

Are you 'glassing directly to the body?
