Today was one of those days when I had questioned my purpose/goal(s). Then before answering myself, I further queried, what am I doing to meet those goals/sserve that purpose.

I have easily concluded that I have spent too much time and money on things that were not important to any worthwhile goals/purposes. I'm going to make more of an effort- a new year's resolution early if you will. That's not to say I won't be posting anymore, because I do believe this site serves a purpose.
I don't hold much water in horoscopes, but glance at mine on my Adelphia page when checking e-mails. Here is today's for Capricorns:

I've got nothing against younger, intelligent folks... I used to be younger. That said, find me a group of younger, conceptually bright up-n-comers that believe marriage is one-man-one-woman, wearing pants such as to show one's Underoos is bad, did not have mommy-n-daddy pay for college, believes that it was/is by the grace of God that our country had prospered this long and has no problem saying the word "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance(yes, I know "God" was added in the 50's) and I'd most likely back them, too.

We are a very young country that rose to power because of believing and fighting for ideals that were not void of religion and having natural resources abundantly available. We bamboozled the Indians out of land and rights. We've done some good,; we've done some bad. Rising to power so quickly only leads to an even quicker fall. It's funny how folks say we shouldn't have our noses here or there, yet they'll conduct commerce internationally via the series of tubes(internet ) and never give it a second thought. Actions of countries of the world are no longer separate and inconsequential to other nations, including ours. That whole "butterfly effect" seems to be more and more realistic everyday.

Just had a revelation- honesty is not enough. Ex: When questioned about the deaths of her three children, the mother confessed, "I killed them." She is honest.
yup. we have done a lot of good and a lot of bad. And that's cool.

As for gay marriage, thugs clothing, college, and religion.. well honestly I could pretty much care less about those.

Gay marriage isn't right. The word marriage should be used only when describing the union between a Man and a Woman. The idea of a gay union between two people is fine in my book. I think a term used as of late is a bit more correct. Civil Union. Be if for love, or tax purposes, I don't care. Just leave the sacredness of marriage alone.

People can wear whatever they wish. Clothing doesn't inspire criminal behavior.

My parents paid for most of my college. I don't have a problem with that. And I grew up among a good number of well-to-do people... My family wasn't one of them but to my friends (and their families) that didn't matter. It's the rich pricks that need some education on humility.

http://www.violentacres.com/archives/30/yo...rom-a-rich-girl <- good article on that.

Religion should be private. I am against structured religion and I think it has no right in public places. I feel that I have a good personal relationship with God. I don't need to go to a building and worship with others. I don't like my parents preaching to me, why would I let a stranger do it?

That having been said, the level of involvement one person wants to have with the church, God, whatever is up to that person. Atheism is a cop-out. There is a higher being within us, what someone wants to call that being is up to them.

Now, if there are some "good" Republicans out there that still stand for true Conservative principles, I support them. The problem is that things have skewed so far to the right that the Democrats are now the ones espousing and looking better on traditional conservative principles like small, non-invasive government, fiscal responsibility, national security, etc.

I am very strongly for small gov't/civil liberties and fiscal responsibility. If this administration had even a hint of those two traditionally Republican traits, I wouldn't be so desperate to be free of them.
