No one delivers to my house. They will meet me at the end of the main road into my community but not at my door.

I figure if I have to get in my car, I'm going to drive all the way to the restaurant. It is only a ten minute drive to town anyways.
thats how it is at my parents house. they will deliver to this one intersection, but they will not cross and go the extra quarter mile to get to their house. many times i walked down the street to pick up a pizza.

oh really?! is the road to your house bad?
Nope. For some reason we are in exile.

My community is quite large; a couple thousand homes and some of them are pretty far from the main road. I am really on the very northern edge of it and nearly everyone lives to the south of me. I think they just decided to ban us all for sake of convenience to them.

On any given weekend, you will see half a dozen cars in the a parking lot for a church that happens to be a the end of the main road waiting for their food. Lazy suckers...

I don't think so. It is WAY more efficient for me to go get my own food.

I look at it this way; if I order take out, I have to wait at least an hour to get my food then I have to pay the guy to get cold food.

If I call, and immediately hop in my car, I'm at the shop in fifteen minutes and the food is just coming out of the oven. That means it will probably still be hot when I get home. The best part is I didn't have to wait.

I used to do the same thing when I lived in Arlington and Fairfax. Delivery just doesn't make sense to me.
