Ok, to be clear:
Ventless gas fireplace, not a good idea, no matter what they say. They are like kerosene heaters. Fire needs oxygen to burn, you need oxygen to breathe, why set up competition.
Vented gas fireplace. Good for all applications. And you keep breathing and do not has the death.
