Congratulations! You just put lipstick on a pig.
Perhaps. But it rotates through corners better, doesn't drive like a heavy car, costs less to own and operate, doesn't attract the attention of the tax collectors, etc. The S has more straightline speed, but that's next to worthless in the real world.

Hmmm, I think it's time to write up a FS post.

I'm not sure what to say... I have to admit that I find it difficult to accept that a FWD Sentra can rotate a corner better than a RWD S2000 but... If you say so...

Good luck with the sale, I guess.

I acknowledge that a two-seater roadster ain't for everyone. All I know is that they are for me. I'll have my S until I can no longer find/purchase parts for it.

Yea... But she is being smart about it and not risking her deductible.

I got majorly HOSED once because I was impatient and used my own insurance to get my car fixed. My insurance company settled with the offender for the cost of their repairs but never got back my deductible. I got a letter years later saying that they were officially closing the file and that I was SOL.

no risk to the deductible.. i wont lose it. i might just have to pay it out of pocket up front.

Travelers is clearly at fault - but if they refuse to accept liability, then USAA will have to pay my claim - collision deductible, then subrogate. After they do that, then I will get my deductible back. Or.. If Travelers accepts liability, USAA will waive it entirely.

I figure if no one knows the full extent of the body damage.. then I might as well take it to the shop to get the final estimate done and then they can haggle it out.

It is the paying up front out of pocket part that scares me. I was told that I could use my insurance but there was no 100% guarantee I would get my money back.

If you wait for them to sort it out before you start the repair, your insurance should be able to give you a better idea of how the process will go. To me it is like a "better to ask for permission than for forgiveness" type issue.

Wait until they say, "Okay... Here is how it is going to work..." before you spend a damn dime.
