Usually just freezing is heat related, right? If it just started maybe a heat sink has become unset. If it's not happened too many times maybe no permanent damage is done?

No idea. It happened last weekend and I haven't touched it since. At the time it started to freeze I had been playing Forza4 for a good 3 hours. I tried it again later in the day when I know it was completely cooled down and it froze within 10 minutes.

Steve, I'd recommend picking up a new 4GB slim. That's what I did Saturday. I wasn't worried about too much memory considering I usually only stick to a couple games at a time. Well, I picked up BF3, and to load the HD pack for the game, you actually have to use an XBOX 360 HDD. Not a flash drive or external, which the 4GB has a built in flash drive.

Did some researching and found some videos where you can install the old style HDD into the new slims. Super easy job. Just disassemble the old HDD case(about 6-8 screws), remove the hard drive, and install it into the back of the new slim. There's a slot on the side of the newer version where is connects to. So, if you have an old 360 HDD, just get the 4GB slim, and save $100. Microsoft sells the 250GB for the new ones, but they're pretty pricey. You can actually buy a case designed to put the old hard drives into, and install it into the new slims.

Just my 2 cents.

As for BF3. Amazing game. You HAVE to install the HD pack though, to experience the full effects. I think the HD pack takes up about 1.5 gig, and there's no charge for it.

Keep an eye out for deals. I know that Bestbuy did a $100 gift cert if you bought either of the XBox Kinect systems and $50 for the non-Kinect systems. I think they only did it for last friday and saturday. But that doesn't mean it won't be around again. Also, Amamzon did a buy two games, get one free. I bought BF3, Rage, and another game that I can't remember now.

Anyone know how good LG TVs are? BestBuy has a bundle deal this week. LG 47" LED 1080p hdtv with that 4GB xbox and MW3 for $899. I've been looking at TVs and pretty much only considered Samsung or Sharp but if the LG isn't bad I might do it. I'm not looking for the latest and greatest either. Don't need 3D tv or internet ready or any of that stuff.

Any take on LG TVs? That one really struck me because I'm actually in the market more for a new TV than a new Xbox but if I can get a new Xbox on the cheap to replace my busted one then that just makes the deal that much better.

LG in general is pretty great. But every company has high-end and low-end gear.
