So, is any one actually planning to get one? Did you pre-order today?

I read that pre-orders started yesterday and they were already sold out of the 'Xbox One Day One" edition. I would do what Jason does and buy it just to flip it, but I'd be too tempted to keep it and no way I need another gaming system right now.

I wonder how many were bought with this intention, and they'll be stuck with them because no actually wanted it.

I would be surprised if they have a shortage because people actually want them (a la Wii). I think what will happen is they will force people to get them as they stop making games for the PS3 and 360, but the PS2 did continue to be top in sales for a while after games stopped being made for it.

A lot of the gaming community is crying bloody murder for all of their DRM stuff. I mean it is pretty dumb that you have to check in online every 24 hours, but really, who would be looking to get a new console that doesn't have broadband at home? also who really lends games to friends?

The DRM stuff alone kills it. There is no plus to buying a used game anymore.

I pretty much buy only used games. I wouldn't get a console were I couldn't do that anymore.
