Spoke with him on the phone just a bit ago... he gave me the rundown on the car with a few things that I am worried about.

Here is what he gave me :
Speaker is fine.. the head unit is starting to go bad.
Tear in driver seat where top part meets bottom.
Crack on bottom of rear tail light, close to bottom
Scratch on bottom of front bumper.

He stated the car did have an oil leak, however after his most recent oil change he has not noticed a leak.

As well, when we had initially spoke he stated that he can obtain a set of the OEM Wheels if I prefer them instead of the AZA Wheels. I told him that I did... however through conversation he had mentioned that he had many connections and also mentioned ebay. A few moments ago I sent him an additional Private Message asking if he had planned to have that taken care of prior to purchase (if the vehicle checks out) or if that is something we'd have to arrange down the road.

I've asked Skip if he can take a look at the vehicle in the next few days.. I'm hoping that everything checks out, however am not feeling too confident.

If you're not feeling too confident, make sure that you have a backup plan. Make sure that you have another car lined up.

But I guess the question is: Are you going to be pissed at yourself if something happens to the car? As in if something happens, are you going to be like, "I knew I shouldn't have bought this car. I already felt uneasy about it."

But the owner is also being up front with everything as of yet. So at least you can look of for the issues vs. finding them out on your own.

Tom, I definitely understand where you are coming from. A huge part of me right now is saying "Chad, don't even waste your time driving up there... just continue searching for a different lower mileage black/black 91' NSX in stock condition." Yet another part of me does say, "Chad, this guy is being up front with you... atleast make the drive to check out the vehicle."

I've been tossing it up since I posted last night... this has been continuously been on my mind. This coming Saturday/Sunday I may make the drive up north to see it and hang out with Skip a bit. However, I will not be going to the bank to get qualified for it... I don't really want to rush in to this as it is a rather large purchase.

I feel like a traitor to the S2000 when I say I don't get the appeal of the NSX. It just looks too old-school to me anymore.

But whatever, everyone should get their dream car some day. ENJOY

The 94-01' NSX Wheels are absolutely amazing looking :

I believe they come standard in a gunmetal color though, not this chrome.
If I'm not mistaken, '94 to '97 they are painted Solaris Gray, then up to '01 they have a machined front with silver painted insets.

Nice choice on car and color, except the tan isn't so bad. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but it's grown on me. Plus it's much more rare. Mine is 1 of 9 in the with this color combo in a 6 speed.

Good luck with the hunt!

- Car looks absolutely great, very nice condition! I've always liked dark interiors... just think that the Black/Black best suits me!

With the information you gave, I think the 94-97' Wheels will do best with the look I am hoping to get.

Definitely don't want to be in your shoes for the decision.

I don't think you'd fit in my shoes... hairy hobbit feet boy!

Well, this is why I plan to have Tony (moparacker), Dave (dave22), and Skip (ff2skip) with me when I check out this vehicle. As you can all probably tell with this thread, I am getting rather eager about making an NSX purchase. Personally I feel having not one but three voices of reason with me... I think I'll be able to truly inspect the car and verify it's the right one for me, rather than making an impulse buy!
