Official Mid-A discussion anything goes thread

Less power hungry? Are you kidding me? No, really. Personally, I'm not the only one who thinks they have been too lax. You have no idea how "rough" it would have been had you joined before. No idea.
Maybe there's not much in the way of arguing, but cursing is ever-present. Heck, even in Anthony's sub-title for the thread **** is implied. I read this entire thread before posting. It definitely does not belong on the front page. There are others threads I think don't belong there either.
Then you have CO's that relax the FS forum rules, but do you think jokers could follow those? No. It doesn't matter what is given to many folks, they always want more.
You have zero idea of who or what I am, Dan. I crack more jokes at myself as well as others than most of you combined. What you don't realize is that there is a time and place for everything. I don't blame you singularly. It's the pathetic way our society is turning, or more correctly, has turned.

You talk about newer owners not being able to join in in the HAW thread. Do you have any idea how many regular, contributing members we've lost because of all the crap on the main section? Sure, some sold their cars, but do you have any idea? Of course not, you weren't around then. Someday you and I won't be around. So what? That's life.

I just want/hope they are doing what they are doing because that's what's best for our community and not what they think the Mid-A should be like or what they want it to be.
They have all been voted in because folks believed they had enough experience in life and S2000 matters to help guide the community along. So why wouldn't they direct it as they saw fit. Do you not believe they are acting on behalf of the community's best interests?Sometimes being told "No" is not what we want to hear, but many times it is exactly what we need to hear. What happens when a parent gives a child everything he/she wants? The child is a spoiled li'l snot and will always want more. In this case, the parent never does any parenting and chaos ensues. Parents teach their children right/wrong. They teach them to be responsible for their actions.
The above is an example trying to relate to CO-ship. Having been a CO on two separate occasions, I can tell you that while there are some rewarding times when folks come together and share life, there are far more times of pleasing no one and made to feel like crap for taking a stand; for being consistent. Instead of complaining, perhaps we should take a moment and THANK them.

Yeah I know this. Its just that I try to lighten up and adjust to changing class of members and not keep referring to how the past used to be. The reason why I'm a gold member now is because I love the Mid-A community and I hope to be apart of it for a while even after I sell my S2000.
The only people I ever see bringing "OG" status when tension might be present are the newer folks. Personally, I really got tired of one CO claiming folks were stammering about OG-this and OG-that. Sharing one's experience is not staking claim to OG status. If folks want to label others, fine. Fact is, everyone can bring something to the table, but half the time not everyone does. It's far easier to bitch and moan about stuff than to actually go out and do something about it. This applies to far more things than this simple board.
And you know what? If I didn't care about my Mid-Atlantic community, I wouldn't be wasting my time keying all of this stuff in. And whether someone likes it or not, I have owned my S2000 a long time. And you know what else? I've been on the planet longer than most of you that post here. I've been just as destitute as some of you have, if not more. Sorry, I didn't own a sportscar until I was in my mid-30's unlike many of you. Some of you have grown up in easy economic times. Only now have you begun to see what can be, but largely, you are still not affected by it. Poor me. That is life.
Man I shouldve left my house 45 minutes ago but you have kept me glued to my chair Skip. I totally understand what you're saying. Reading what you wrote kind of brought me back down to Earth. Thank you Skip (neverthoughtI'dsaythat) I knew I shouldnt have been complaining. I've brought what I could to the table. And I can understand that members like yourself have seen more than I have. Im sorry for questioning the judgement of the CO's . I'm trying just so hard to contribute to the Mid-A community to keep it going and moving forward. Sorry for questioning your views to Skip. Thanks for the input though as i'll keep in mind of some of the key stuff you pointed out.

Not sure if you're patronizing me or not. I am not the end-all, be-all, Dan. If we had never questioned anything, we wouldn't be the US of A. We wouldn't have gone to the moon. All I'm really trying to say is that there is a right and wrong way to go about affecting change. You are a flake, no don't, but hopefully your desire to enhance the community will be realized someday.
Added: Just read your second post. You're still a flake.
