Default Racing Rigs?

Well i am thinking about putting some kind of racing rig in my basement for the video games. I have my 55" Sony HDTV 3LCD setup with some kick ass surround sound, 360, ps3, and my wii. Anywho, I am shopping around for pre-built rigs and I was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations.

I was considering these 2.
Rig 1: Playseats ($300)

Rig 2: VRX ($800-1000) <--- pretty rediculous in my opinion.
here

Option 3 is building my own with some steel and a friend who welds, throw on a Sparco seat or something.

I'm bundling this with:

Logitech G25 Pro wheel, Leather wrapped, paddle shifters, gearbox (sequential or 6 spd option) full pedals with built in clutch support. ($260)

It will work with ps3 and 360 (from what i have heard on 360) and Formula F1 supports it as well as Forza 2 which comes out in May and Grand Turismo next year will support it as well.

It's lookin to be one cool setup.

Finally its going with this: (sorry its not the best picture but you get the idea.)

So i'm looking for as much input as possible, especially if any of you have any experiences with any other setups that are out there.

I was thinking about having a Forza2 Release party in May when it comes out, not final yet, depends on my summer school schedule and the release of the game.

btw. That wheel setup is sick, Clutch, Paddle shifters on the wheel, the separate gearbox with the option for sequential or 6 spd shifting, it has a 6 spd box built into it. True racer set, for $260 it better be. IGN gave it 5 thumbs up! lol

wicked. my only question is do any of those setups have a "real life" shifter mounting location? or would it have to be right next to the steering wheel (which I've always found a bit odd).

nevermind, i see the playseats option has an add-on shifter piece for the G25.

I'd probably go with that one.

Well the G25 Racing Setup is a separate box (if that is what you were referring to). I am of course going with the G25 steering package reguardless of the $260 price. I was just unsure of the actual seat setup, I wanted something that would be the most comfortable and also would not "turn over" or "roll" under tight cornering motion etc. All of them look a little narrow to be honest with you, I'd like to have something with a wide base. We will see though, its going to be a sick setup.

no, what i meant was that you've got these seats, but you need a place to mount the 6-speed shifter in a logical place. that's why i said the playseats look good - there's an add-on mounting option specifically for the shifter part, to put it in a logical location (low, next to the seat).

You could always mount any of the options to some sort of wider base.

Ah i gotcha, I know, it's only $35 for the addon which is nice. The pic below is actually of the G25 shifter box. It gives you the option for sequential (up/down) as well as a true 6 spd gearbox with the clutch support. Also has the paddle shifter support on the wheel for formula style.

Like i said, it's gonna be a sick setup, they just announced force feedback support for Grand Turismo next year. They also updated the download in the PS3 storefront. Sick!

will that wheel have force feedback for the F1 game? We tried it with the GT4 wheel and there was no FF.
