Thanks bro

Just sold the Flashpro and test pipe. Finally getting some of my other parts sold. Sold that other Recaro that's been just hanging out in my room. Probably going to end up getting puddymod to build me a 4.44 gear diff instead which unfortunately isn't cheap but it should take any beating I throw at it.

Pete do you still have the test pipe on your car or are you back to stock cat?

^Yeah. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I know it's the best but the price is steep.

I can't figure Steve and Pete out, lol. Steve, I think the gears are definitely a good move, and from everything I've heard and read, Puddymod is THE place to go, but I thought you decided that Flashpro and a tune would be a better use of the funds? Oh well, good luck with whichever way you go.

^I did but after looking at it with a buddy of mine that does some tuning. He personally felt with my setup I wasn't going to see any great gain or noticeable difference and it was going to take us a while to mess with it. If I had a header and full exhaust and intake and all that good stuff I probably would have kept it but for a mostly stock setup I don't think it was going to make the difference I was hoping for.

I've driven a 4.77 geared ap1 and it definitely is a difference you'll notice compared to stock. Hopefully I'll be able to say the same for 4.44 gears in an ap2.

Basically I'm right back at having no idea what I want to do. Part of me wants to go back to the original plan of track car and order another rollbar. I wish I could figure me out too

I had vague dreams of turning my car into a track car, but then I got real. The closest real track to me is some 3hrs away, and not only would it be a big time commitment (my weekends are usually filled with family stuff and golf in the spring/summer/fall), but it ain't cheap either. Not to mention the fact that even the best drivers have "offs" which can cause severe damage. Don't get me wrong, the track guys seem to have lots of fun, it's just not something I'm realistically going to do.
My car is a pure weekend street machine that I take to work every now and again. That's part of the reason I went turbo, because I knew I didn't have to worry about everyday reliability. I don't realistically see myself putting more than 4K miles per year on it.

So, if I were you, I'd probably hold off on the track-related mods until you've made the commitment that you're really ready to invest the time/money/effort into tracking the car.

^That's sort of how I've always felt about it which is why you've seen some track parts come and go. It is a fairly large commitment. That is part of the reason I've always looked towards good mods for a street car that would be beneficial on a track car but still not over the top as to make my street car no fun to drive. Plus in no way, shape, or form and I ready to just write the car off if I ball it up. That's part of the reason I really like autocross. It's pretty darn low risk and I still get to flog on the car.

Money is another thing. To track regularly you need to either be rich or budget like hell and know exactly what your expenses will be. I don't have that kind of disposable income right now. I'm also getting married in May and we are currently looking at houses. Those that have already been there know what that means. I've got a little money to play with right now before the spending needs to be stop so I'm trying to figure out what it would be best used for. I still wish I could have those CE28s back
