AP2's have higher final drive gearing(i didn't confirm this), more torque (20lbs/ft?), same horsepower, suspension is tweaked so that the rear doesn't slide out as easy. Ummm...8k redline. That's all the performance stuff I could think of off the top of my head.
I would say overall it's "better," but I haven't owned one, I've only test driven it.
