i got a kenwood exelon deck with ipod hook up. i use the deck to control it, but its kinda hard to navigate around in the ipod with it.

my deck can play mp3/m4a/aac/pdf/jpg whatevers files so i like to make cds with plenny folders...works better for me.

i got my deck and the ipod hook up from special t tinting ...the stereo shop in there.

i got this infrared thingy that lets me use my drivers side dash controls from there too. works pretty good.

i have an Alpine ( i want to say 9815) not sure, but it was a 2003 model. Went to radio shack and got an AUX Cable and my IPOD works great. I have to control the Ipod through the Ipod, not through the head unit.

thats my cheap solution =)

I tried those adapters. Not impressed with them. I'd like to avoid Best Buy and use smaller shops instead.
sorry to bring this back from the dead but whats wrong with the best buy adapters? i was thinking about upgrading my deck too.

Best buy adaptors tend to be slow when trying to browse music and they're a bit buggy. Alpine has iPod interfacing down to a science. You can get one of their regular head units with a high speed iPod interface cable, or you can get the IDA-X001 which is a head unit dedicated to iPod use.

If I still had the S2000 I would go with this deck because I don't use CD's anymore, but I have room in the NSX for a double din unit so I'm going with the IVA-W205.

Yup, not too crazy spending $400-plus on HU that I'll probably rarely use. On short drives, I like the sound of the S. How much for this BB solution? If it's cheap I'll try it. I'm hardly an audiophile. I listen to talk radio most of the time-- my IPOD on longer drives when I can't seem to receive anything at certain parts of this Island.
