Default HT repair

Hey guys has anyone experienced the thread being striped where the bolts go in for a hardtop, for the hardtop latches (OEM) or anyone have experience with using Rivnuts to fix that issue? The left side is perfect but the right side won't hold a bolt. I have a Seibon Mugen style top.

replica ht i am not sure, but on oem and authentic mugen ht have inserts. the rep ht is probably the same so either retap, extract/replace the insert.

Honda sell the rivnuts as spare parts (or use off the shelf) and they're installed with a rivnut gun which is not crazy expensive. I think the answer depends on how the nut is held by the rep hardtop - is the nut encapsulated in alloy/fibreglass/other?

@bouford thanks for the info will probably replace the inserts, seems like the only option. @clio i read somewhere on the forums that honda can install the rivnuts as well? Not sure about the nut, i think its alloy? All the hardware and HT was secondhand :/
