but then it went away.

what does that mean? i just hit 56k. is there anykind of service that the car is supposed to get?

 

The Maint required light will light up at your suggested oil change intervals. For a while it will light when you start the car and then go out. After a while it will go on and stay on till reset. I can't remember exactly the way to reset the light, but I think you press and hold both "trip" and "select" buttons (the two on the right side of the instrument panel) turn the key to "on". Keep holding the two buttons till the light goes out.

i just picked up a big bottle of mobile 1 on the weekend

 

to keep the CEL from coming back on you are supposed to (according to the book)

1. turn off the engine
2.hold the TRIP button and turn the key to the ON position
3.hold the button until the indicator goes off.

as for the mobil1, don't drink it all at once.

 

oh yeah, and if it still doesn't go out, you're supposed to put on your sexiest evening dress and call a certified juice-maker for help

haha, i started freaking out when that came on too...then i took it to the dealership and felt so stupid when i was freaking out about it=p
