Default New box

Hey guys,

Finally getting a box built for my 10W7. It's getting built by Reid at Mobile Car Audio in Pearl City. He's building a fiberglass bottom with an inch and a half of MDF on the top. Box with sub installed for $400. First quote I got was $650!! Needless to say I came back two weeks later for a lower price.

There is also a Silverstone AP1 with 18" black rims with chrome lip there getting a similair box with a Focal sub installed.

I was supposed to have the box on Saturday. They had to order the vinyl for the box so it got pushed back to Monday. Wasn't a very big deal. Then I came back to the shop on Monday after a call that it was almost ready. Got there and he said he was having a problem installing the sub. Supposedly the W7 mounts different than other subs. Reid only works on the weekends so I have to wait until next Saturday.

Anyone ever deal with Mobile Car Audio. Seems like I am getting some below average service.

BTW: the box looks awesome. Reid definetely does some good Fiberglass.

havent dealt with mca before.

i would recommend special t but they arent doing car audio anymore. tint only since the market is being flooded with wholesale car audio. they did my sq xb a few years ago. they did great work and were reasonably priced.

special t recommended install-tech and security & sound to me, as i am looking for some work too.

good luck with your project.

the audio guy I've always been going through is Alex F. he used to work at MCA, then moved on to ICA... Since ICA closed down. He now works out of a shop in Waipahu. I still go through him for everything...

He did the custom sounds for my G35 Coupe... i would say took him total of about a day... with all the breaks and talking story in between... I wanted it this way so my daugther stroller would still fit in the trunk

... then i messed it all up when i installed the air suspension...

I'll let you know how everything turns out in the end. Other than taking forever Reid is a really nice guy and answers all of the questions I have immediately without hesitation.

System looks sweet.

What components are you using?

Anything in the S?

I also got to Alex, like Jeremy for my sounds install. He worked on my car at ICA before it closed and now he will be wroking on my car this weekend at mobile auto concepts. Hes a great guy and his work is A+ with no shady buisness. I recommend him if you want your sounds done right with a resonable cost.
