Default shooting ranges

anyone here have handguns or firearms and where you can put them to use...mostly looking for a tactical movement range with various targets aside from the regular lane and paper target ranges (which are fine to keep it maintained)...also need to know if you can use automatic type weapons (ie: HK G36C, MP5SDS and CAR-15 pre-ban) and possibly something long range (outside of 700M for long rifles)

thanks

tactical range is nil. you're .mil, there should be something for you on base right? i have and continue to train with the magpul guys at an indoor range, but it is very small (CQB, right? LOL). at least we can use the AR's and MP5's indoors. if you're big army, you can get to puuloa, they shoot to 800 IIRC and they i believe they have one or two "tactical" matches a month

i'm getting in a GAP Rock in soon, and i'll be trying to get out to puuloa to get some dopes and LR practice.

oh and no NFA items here. on base only and a couple of us shoot the IPSC matches when we can. that's about as much movement you can get, in a public range

army wont let you use any personally owned firearms or weapons on base at any of the ranges (ghey)...yea CQB cause the training we supposedly get is crap compared to what i have done with other services within the DoD...ive read the strict rules that hawaii has which is why i registered them without suppressors...they looked at me when i brought my cases in and were like holy shit what do you need all of these for!!!???

Greetings from Ireland!

I think MCBH Kaneohe started to allow personal firearms on the range once a week, but I don't know if they do any tactical shooting. I will let you know if I find out more. I will be picking up my first pistol when I get back home in a few months. Bought a SIG p226 Dark Elite, 40 cal. So I will definitely be finding out more about using the base range.

WGC lets you do moving transition drills if you are a member, and there isn't anyone else actively using the lanes. They actually had a couple of Japanese tourists hanging out watching me as I did a right to left walking transition from the M4 (left handed) to the 1911 (right handed) a while back...
