Maybe buy the patches? Idk if it's worth replacing. If its the normal spot then it'll just happen again so paying 600+ to have it happen again... Or! You could save your money and buy a hardtop!

whats the usual spots where the tears happen?

i have two small holes that occur when the rear trays are taken out but i patched those up. these new tears are towards the last brace in the back of the top. the one located right above the roll hoops. i might just patch it up then...i dont feel like paying $600 poor college student..

Where can i buy these patches?

@ felipe - why does the rear window come out smaller? they dont re-use the old one?

i think jeff b aka "cheehee" might have a few left. not sure where you can buy them.

robbins top has a smaller window. it replaces your oem soft top complete.

I believe it's on the last uhh rib of the soft top on both sides just before it goes down it's the "infamous " tear spots idk why the s2000 just does it haha I think there was a set in the market place some where lemme look for it I think places can also fix it by sowing it shut which may also solve the problem mine had the rips but were sewn shut already

Some of my experiences with the EZON glass replacement top:

- I didn't gut the interior, but I did take both seats, the spare and trunk lining in the rear only.
- I guesstimate about 16 hours total for the install for me -- in 3 1/2 days, but I works slow and I like to clean/vacuum during the install. And when I got super frustrated, I stopped and got a beer -- which made things worse...
- It's more than possible to install this yourself.
- Most of the holes on the EZON DOES NOT line up..either I drilled and/or used a soldering iron to relocate/resize the holes.
- This top is NOT a perfect fit. If you're an anal S2K owner, you will see where it doesn't quite fit. But it's way better than the worned out OEM top it replaced.
- Order some fasteners, I can guarantee you will break some. Or get a variety of generic ones locally.

All in all, it wasn't too bad -- just extremely tedious. I probably could install another top in half the time after this, but I'd rather not.

Does anyone know what I should use to protect/treat this cloth top?
