I charged my friend $50 to tint his two windows on his RX330 and I felt like I was ripping him off. I'll do yours for $50 if you don't mind being 'ripped off' by me.

'nosyajg' knows me if you want some info.

I use the same stuff Special T uses (SolarGard). I have True Grey 38% which is good shiet. Guaranteed not to fade or turn purple.

Guys, did your tinters use 3M, Madico, or some other brand? I hear it makes a huge difference in longevity and price.

I just got another quote for 3M with lifetime warranty for $250.

Check out this site for some tint info

Tint Webpage

I've used tint from both SunGard and SolarGard. I've never had SolarGard fade or turn purple. I've had SunGard fade before though (20% went to about 60%!). But I tinted my in-law's accord with SunGard back in 97' and it still looks good.

I don't know what is the absolute best brand but I do know that SolarGard works for me and I've never had any complaints from the cars/houses I've done using their products.

One thing about the True Grey from SolarGard though is that it is thin. This makes it easier to shape and apply but hard to handle during application because it crinkles easy. So you have to be relatively skilled in installing it. Also since the film is thin I assume that scratch resistance is less than average. I have however worked with films that thin before. I personally don't like working with thin films because I am able to shape thicker films pretty well anyway.

IMO, if you get it done by a shop, just make sure that the company has been around for a long time. A lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the company doesn't exist anymore. Another thing that you have to take into consideration is how long you expect to keep the car. If you plan on eventually move on then I would not not care too much. Just make sure you aren't using super sh!tty stuff.
