Default Lumbar support pillow

anyone have any that they can recommend and where to purchase? I'm not getting any younger and we all know the S seats are far from forgiving.

My wife has a bad back, so we purchased a small pillow from Bed Bath and Beyond. It's about 1.5' wide, 1' tall, and 3" thick and works very well for lumber support and is very inexpensive. She only uses it on trips longer than 30 minutes, so it resides in the trunk or behind the seat most of the time.

Thumbs down

You guys know that you can slip additional padding behind the seatback don't you? The main seatback panel is not all one piece. Just stick your hand in the crack between the side bolster and pull out the center back section enough to stick a thin pad in there and position it right where you need it. It works wonders and you can't even tell it's there. No loose pads hanging about the cabin!

Well, if you want true lumbar support, you couldn't have it any easier or much cheaper, IMHO. I purchased a lumbar support 'pillow' from Moss Motors. It installs in about 5 minutes and it works great. Basically, it's an inflatable pillow with a hose extending long enough to run under your seat. At the end of this hose, there is a pump -- similar to an old timey perfume sprayer pump -- and an air release valve/button.

Basically, you pull out the perforated middle section of the seat, slide the pillow down to the bottom with the hose running toward the driveshaft (right leg of driver) and run it to just under the lever that you use to adjust the seat location. Push the middle insert back into place.

Viola! You're done. Pump up lumbar support. I've had mine at least 1.5 years and it's great. Very little weight, great granular adjustability, easiest install of ANY mod I have purchased, and a very decent price (~$65 when I bought it).

Hope this helps!

Is this the lumbar support you bought?

And the pump tube, can it be routed through the bottom of the seat or does it have to wrap around the side bolster then behind and under?

Thx.

I too have an achy back after driving the s2k. this is my daily driver

I bought tempur-pedic at brookstone, love it, tho you have to reposition it every time you get in as it's an inch too wide to stay in place. I got this model: http://www.brookstone.com/shop/product.asp...ory&prodtemp=t1

Should say we have tempur-pedic matress and wife has bed and travel pillow, so maybe we are biased as we like their products...

I think this model is not as wide (12") and will fit nicely under the upholstery.

Agreed. It was too slim for me though, since I lowered the seat lower back support was lacking and I needed more space filled than that offered. Otherwise I would have bought that 1.

How do you lower/raise the seat?
