Default OEM Clutch Disc w/ Lightweight Flywheel

Hi all, I've done some research but haven't come up with a definitive answer on this yet. I'm looking to upgrade my flywheel to a lightweight model from either ACT or CM, and upgrade the pressure plate as well. I just wanted to know if I can expect quicker wear on the OEM clutch disc with this setup, or if it would be cancelled out by the added force of the pressure plate. According to what I've read, ACT uses rebuilt OEM discs and offers the flywheel I was looking at, so it seems it would be safe. Any insight or experience would be much appreciated.

quicker? not any if you drive it right! if you are not used to driving with a lighter flywheel then maybe. and you probably can take that CDV out too.

Just buy a used AP1 flywheel and have it resurfaced.

id stay with the oem flywheel, (ap1 flywheel that is)

its gonna be a bitch to move on a 11lb (or lighter) flywheel.

not really, I have a 9.5 lb flywheel, and I noticed no difference in any way from the stock one. not driving, revving, nothing. pretty sad when youi pick both of them up and the aftermarket one is WAY lighter!!

If you do decide to use a lightweight fly, make sure it is a chromoly steel one, aluminum ones tend to warp if heated a little too much

oh yea, i have an '01

I have an 8lb Toda and I did notice the difference immediately. I would not go back to the heavy OEM FW.
