Default Tyre Advice Needed

Not really S2000 related (except that I do own an S2000 as well).

I have just bought a Series 1 Lotus Elise (1999 model but with only 24k miles). The trouble is the last owner had just fitted new Avon ZZ3 tyres front and rear and I find the grip from the rear to be very lacking (compared to my S2K and I had thought that the Lotus would have more grip!).

Two questions arise:

1. Are the Avon ZZ3's as bad as I think they are, in other's experience?

2. What would be the best replacement (for the rears only - 225/45/16)?

Thanks!

Much as I like the Elise & would encourage wide discussion, I think you are asking in the wrong place!

You could try Bridgestone S-02 Potenzas & then go learn the Elise website a thing or three!

Maybe you should ask www.seloc.co.uk

When I drove an s1 elise it had avon tyres and it blow me away the way the thing handled.

I owned an elise and the best tyre is the Yoko as mentioned above as this has been designed for the S1.

Seloc is a good forum or smaller and possibly friendlier is www.mloc.net (midlands but doesnt really matter)

Hope this helps.... and enjoy both cars! - i am a very jealous person!
