Thumbs down Central PA outgrowing it's chat line thread

From what I am seeing in the Central PA sticky thread it appears we could use our own region. Already we have too many different topics cluttering up the region with talks of meets and sitings and other stuff. Also I am sure the Central PA region would grow once we had our own region on the site. It would definitely be easier to plan local stuff and connect members for helping each other out.

I looked at the entire thread. It doesn't look like you have many individual contributors. It might be better to aty aligned with Allegheny or DelVal (or both) to keep the number of eyes on your threads up. Just my thoughts.

The thoughts, concerns and requests of "Guests" often falls on deaf ears.

Your enthusiasm is great, but I believe the admin has not been supporting smaller new groups. Note: All of NY is Metro NY and Upstate NY. Send cthree or hondagal a PM to inquire....don't take my word for it

Also, I hate to agree with Freq on anything, but the admin may not look favorably on a couple owners who are 'guests' on s2ki.com

If you choose to stay active here on the DelVal forum, I'm happy to pin a topic for a week or two...when you have something goin' on Just send me a PM....

Judging from the size of the other regional forums, I don't think we have near the critical mass to be self-sustaining. I know I only have time to be an occasional viewer and poster, and just do not have the cycles available to really help make a Central PA forum go. I agree with Jerry that we can and should keep a topic thread alive with his help. (Thanks, Jerry !)

What might make a difference is us having a couple of good fun events during the summer driving season.

I wouldn't say it is hopeless for small groups, but I only see 4 votes on the poll. Initially when communities have been requested we asked that you had 10 or more folks interested in developing a community. A community needs to take off quickly. It is not just a place for a few locals to hang out and chit chat. We take the development of communities very seriously. The reason, is we want to make sure everyone succeeds.

A sub forum could be made (as an example) Toronto forum, has a sub forum for Ottawa. The cities are realatively close together, yet far enough to be separate. I am not sure I am in favour of a separate main forum. I don't want this region to be chopped up, divided, and have to many boundaries.
