I expect to ship the bumpers within a day or two, but in the meantime I though I'd post these instructions. The instructions will be posted on our web site in pdf form tomorrow.

First, some background. When the top is down, airflow over the cabin curls around behind the roll hoops and rushes forward with great pressure, creating turbulence in the cabin. Our aero screen blocks this forward- rushing wind, but since the stock screen mechanism is spring hinged, variations in the air pressure cause it to flex back and forth, creating a vibration. A fix requires some method of preventing the hinge action of the mechanism by creating a resistance to the forward pressure of the wind on the screen.

This fix is based on several months of experimentation. Earlier solutions used rubber foam strips sandwiched between the screen mechanism sides and the roll hoops. This worked reasonably well, but the foam had to be replaced periodically. First attempts at more permanent solutions required drilling holes in the roll hoops, a prospect that we found abhorrent.

The ideal solution uses the enclosed small dome-shaped polyurethane polymer bumper made by 3M. These bumpers prevent the screen from moving forward beyond the vertical limits of the spring mechanism. The faster you go, the more the wind pressure

Thanks Rick for your persistence. It is indeed a rare occcurance in this day and age that a merchant works so hard to back up his product.

Now I fully understand why so many people buy Rick's stuff. The research never ends.
