Default Charlotte Area TSB repairs?

I'd like to know if anyone in the Charlotte area has had the clutch or transmission TSB repairs performed. If so, which dealer performed the work and how satisfied are you with the results. I'm dealing with the 'gear grind' and looking for an experienced tech.

Thanks, in advance.

I had the 1 - 2 gear grind in my '00 S2000 and it took them until I had about 16k miles before they attempted to fix it. That, plus a huge stack of printed forum to prove there was something wrong! They ordered the synchro to repair and kept my car for a solid two weeks!

After the first attempt with the synchro repair, they repaired it again with a second kit only to finally order a new transmission from Torrence, California! So, I got an entirely new tranny at 16k miles!

However, the dealer still did not feel comfortable with the repair and placed an order for a new flywheel, pressure plate and clutch assembly. I was comforatble with the repair as the grind was gone and wanted my car back. These other repairs would have kept my car in the shop for another 2 weeks!

However, after about 20k miles, I began experiencing horrible "chattering" from the clutch. Through the painful enduring Honda tech line telling me at one point that I was driving my S2000 too aggressively to the point I was told that I was not driving my S2000 aggressively enough!

Finally at 35k miles (right before the void of warranty), I had the pressure plate, clutch assembly and flywheel replaced! Only after upteen calls to Honda in Torrence and the Mid-Atlantic region!

That's why I have an '02 now. . .

tembaga,

Go to Hendrick Honda on South Blvd. Ask for Peggy Rode (service rep). She's awesome. She takes extremely good care of me, and loves these cars. They have several good techs there, but a guy named Gary usually works on my 2000 model.

I had the repair done the day before Thanksgiving; Peggy had to order all the parts in advance (took about a week for them to come in), then she called me when they arrived and setup an appointment. It only took one day to complete, and we went on a Charlotte area meet two days later.....driving hard, in spite of the fact that Airgate was there!!!

The clutch has been slightly less stiff, but the transmission has been very smooth with NO grinding noise since. I wouldn't recommend BUYING a car from Hendrick (I had to pay $6,000 over list price at the end of last year!), but their service department is great! Call Peggy....she'll set you up.

Hey Sheila, did you have them do the seat belt recall too? I haven't done mine yet, those pics someone posted of one in progress just scared me

Yes..., they did the seatbelt recall, the clutch/transmission fix and the "leaky air conditioner" service bulletins for me; in separate appointments of course, but each in a day, with no follow-up problems. I know a lot of people on this board have had horror stories with dealerships, but I've never had anything but excellent service from Hendrick. (I promise...no kickbacks here; just good experiences.)
