1-2 grind fix & updated clutch disc in MA?
Has anyone in Massachusetts done TSB#00-054&055? Which dealer is easiest to deal with? My 2nd gear grinds about once every 20 shifts and it sends chills down my spine, I have to get it fixed.
My car has about 1360 miles on it. I noticed the grind a little after break-in. At first, I thought it was driver error but later it happened so often I knew there was a problem in the tranny. It happened twice last night during a 10 minute drive.
If anyone in MA had the TSB's done please help me!

JiggaTaOG,
I had TSB-055 and the clutch replaced at Bernardi Honda. Also, had the rear window replaced, seatbelt recall and new Radio/CD headunit installed. I highly recommend Bernardi's for S2000 work. Excellent service and done right the first time, always.
My car was grinding since the day I took delivery and the clutch was noisy and had slipped a few times. It's like a different car now. I can hardly wait until Spring.

Thanks honda_s2k, I'll check with Herb Chambers first then Bernardi's because that's where I bought it at Herb Chambers, but I don't know how much I can trust them with my car. When I took off the lot, I asked how to install my shift knob, it was off 90 degrees, and they said sometimes they come like that...

JiggaTaOG,
As a side note, you probably already know that you can take your Honda in for warranty service at any authorized Honda dealership.
Also, I have had my Honda's serviced at Bernardi's since 1985 and have never had a bad experience. You do not owe the selling dealer your service dollars.
Ask around and you will find that Bernardi's has their act together. They do have S2000 trained techs, too.

I'm just starting to follow these treads as I shop for an S2000. What are "TSB#00-054&055?" Is there some kind of problem with 1-2 shifts? When I drove an S2000 at a dealership last weekend, I noticed a grind on the 1-2 shift and just thought it was me (although I drive a 5-speed Prelude every day). Try as I did, it ground on EVERY 1-2 shift. I'm still trying to buy this car. Should I let it go or make them fix the 1-2 synchro before I take delivery.

TSB 054 and TSB 055 are technical service bulletins to repair the tranny (1-2 grind fix) and replace the clutch disc which is noisy under deceleration.
A lot S2000s have the 1-2 grind that you experienced. Honda knows about it and is replacing the bad parts (1st and 2nd synchros?).
I have 10,600 miles on mine and have not experienced the grind (fortunately).

hecash,
Honda replaced it under warrantee. The volume used to "clip" when playing the CD player at high volume, like on the highway with the top down. Power cycling it, sometimes multiple time, would bring the sound back. There is an open TSB for this problem.
BTW, they replaced it with an '00 model so I still do not have a clock but that's not a big deal to me. I always wear a watch.
