)Synthetic oil is too slippery until you've done around 9,000 miles+
Check yer oil every week/ few hundred miles, don't let it get low
Don't get too hung up on the 10W-30 bit - it can be hard to get hold of over the counter.
According to oilmansi, who posts here on oil-related threads from time to time and who works in the industry, 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40 will all do you fine. The key thing is to ensure you stick to mineral oil until you get to your first service.

No it ain't, Magnatec is mainly mineral with a bit of synth thrown in so that they can suggest it is. If you read the bottle it never actualy states that it is synthetic.
