what the average rate of oil comsumption for the s2000? how many quarts per month?

Check it every time you fill up until you get a feel for the consumption on your particular car. Also, keep in mind that it may use oil faster when driven hard. It costs nothing to check, and next to nothing to top it off. It can cost a lot to run the oil level too low.

Originally, mine would use up the 1/2 quart left from an oil change to keep the oil level topped off for the 3500 miles or so between oil changes. It seems to have slowed down some since I went past 10k miles.

 

0.5 qt/ 1000 miles when new,

tapered off to 0.1 qt/1000 miles by 6000 miles.

After that don't need any.

 

I still had oil consumption up to the day I sold mine (although it was minimal at that point). Could it be because I switched to synthetic at 5000 miles instead of waiting until 7500?

 

just curious. i checked the oil for the first time at 700 miles. and it was about a quart low. i was kind of scared. but then i realized the oil rings arent set yet and thats the reason why. but still a quart 1 1/2 weeks seems a lot.
