Default How do I find my engine number?

I have an '02 built in May. I'm wondering if I have the old jet oil bolts (banjo bolts) or the new ones. Where do I look to find the engine number?

Thanks.

It is not based on engine number, it is based on the actual whole car. It is integrated somewhere in the VIN.

The engine number is located in a couple areas. One is naturally on the engine itself, in the front right (looking at the car) just below the valve cover. The other is in on plate just in front of the radiator at the front of the car after you open the hood.

Reportedly Honda began installing the new design bolts after engine
F20C 1102 5386.

However, also keep this in mind. Barry, who has been tracking S2000 engines failures reported on this board, now reports that there have been two engine failures which had the new bolts.

So should you worry about it? My warranty runs out the end of this year, unless I extend it...... until then, it's Honda's problem, not mine.

Thanks for the info. I just want to know for my own understanding. Since I'll be tracking the car, making sure it's properly lubed is pretty crucial. I gather from reading the threads that they never issued a TSB or anything here in the US, right?

Spa, you know I'm gonna in just 300 short miles!!!

Anybody know who "Barry" is and if I can track down any info on the old banjo bolt vs. the new banjo bolt failures?

Just curious, as this thread is pretty old, what the current score is...

Thanks!
