Engine Serial Number

Does anyone know where the engine serial number is? I would like to backtrack an engine and need the serial number, but don't know where to find it.

you can find it on 2 places...

1: sticker on the front of the engine
2: stamped on the left side of the engine (behind the generator..)

If you didn't throw away the original window sticker that was on the car when you bought it, you will find it on there as well.

i believe its stapped on the front driver side of the head where it meets the block, kind of behind and over from the behind the belt tensioner.
