Default Interest in shift gate, a la Ferrari

We're starting work on development of a titanium or aluminum shift gate to replace the shift boot. Shift gates are common on Ferraris; on our car they should help prvent missed down shifts that could damage the engine by over-revving it. The only issue is whether the gate will work on our transmission with its very short throw. We'll know that when we have the prototype developed, so right now we're just trying to determine interest.

Let us know what you think.

that - I would buy - I always wanted one for my TT - but the only one available was chrome.

Make one that fits the interior and I'll take it. The only issue I can see is the shaft of the shifter...Is it attractive enough to leave bare?

The last thing I want is a shifter reminiscent of one in a Ferrari, no interest from me.

I'm not really fond of the stock boot... If it looks good - I'd probably buy it!

Gunmetal or carbon fiber, please!

doesn't this mean our knob shaft will have to be replaced as well.
from what i remember when installing your leather shift boot the shaft is tapered with some kind of rubber material around it.

Rick,
I think the biggest challange is the shift gate will work under all conditions.

-Street, Track, just slow cruzing.

Our shifter shakes ALOT when under hard accel or decel. Would the gate hold it in gears or can take the rubbing or constant contact?

These are just my .02cents.

I thought Gary and I voted last Saturday against proceeding with this idea Just Kidding!!!
Folks, if you want it ask Rick to get it or make it. You KNOW it will be a quality product.
