Interest in shift gate, a la Ferrari
No thanks.
The stock shifter is quite thick and quite unattractive under the boot. Of course, there's a reason it's shaped the way it is and that's to cut down on vibration. So unless you're planning on replacing the stock shifter with a more attractive one then you'll have an abortion on your hands. Hmm, but if you do that how will you engineer the vibration out of a thin undamped piece of metal?
Quit while you're ahead Rick. I don't think this will enhance anyones experience with the car other than those who don't drive it at all.

As much as I love the idea, I don't think it'll work very easily. Look at how thick the shifter is under the boot.
But hey, if you can make it work properly, and I can still shift the same as I do now, I'd buy it.

I like the idea but since the S2000 is suppose to be a new interpretation of the roadster - the retro thing might not make sense from a concept point of view - I always have liked the shift gates on the new volvos - forgot what they are called but it looks like there is a ball at the bottom of the gate - very contemporary looking....would look excellent in S2000s
