intake very dirty/sooty beyond TB plate..
Is this from PCV leakage and should I go to a catch can? For a car with only 6K on it (stock btw) I was surprised to see such a dirty intake manifold. The area before the TB/TB plate was perfectly clean - but upon opening the plate by hand - the area immediately beyond was completely black. Should I be worried at all or just take off the manifold periodically and clean it up?
I also have the dirty intake problem. I just take off the throttle body and spray some STP Intake Cleaner inside. I usually soak up any standing fluid with a towel before reinstalling the throttle body.
The car may run a little rough for a few seconds when starting it up again, but opening up the throttle a bit will keep the car from stalling.
