Default 97 snake w/gears

Last night I met w/some people out in front of my house and my friend brought his friend w/a 97 cobra w/intake, exhaust, and gears (didn't catch what kind of gears)...Well makeing this short, I straight up just felt like racing and I thought what the hell...so I go over and ask the guy if he wants to run. Then my friend who brought the cobra driver starts saying how fast the cobra is and he would SMOKE me, let alone me winning...well the driver agrees to race. So we go out to the end of Southgate RD, and I have a passenger and he's by himself...He (cobra driver) asked to run out the hole...so I agree and I tell my friend to call it...1-2-3 were off...I got a shity ass start and so did he (we both just smoked through 1st) I hit 2nd and pulled up on him by 1/2 a car, then through 2nd he just cant hang and I put 2 cars on him by 3rd and I just kept pulling through 4th and beat him by about 3 cars! We both elect to run again due to our shity starts so we turn around and do it again...1-2-3 ...I had an awesome launch and just straight up stretched this cobra 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th by about 4 cars...I slowed down to see what he had to say and he just said that my car was pretty quick and that he needed gas...so me and my friend go back to my house and every1 was there and knew what was going on...I tell them what just happened and he's prettymuch in shock. All in all the cobra driver was a nice guy w/a nice ass car, he had chrome cobra rims w/fatties and skinnies, a simple spoiler, and a 3" hood, and it was lowered. I also just added a spugen exhaust, to go along w/my CAI and a VAFC.

wow... the highest i've ever dropped it was 6200. but i had some stick wide rubber on the back... i assuming that you got alot of wheel spin but when you caught you landed in vtec.... again sweet run against the cobra

Actually, there's virtualy no wheel spin...I'll rev to about 7500 then start to walk the clutch out feathering the gas so that the rpm's stay at about 7, and the rpm's will drop a bit to about 7000 if you get it right, and you'll just be out...thats how I managed a 2.0 60 ft time on stock tires...its a bit of added abuse on the trany and the clutch but it's the only way to go. If you just dump the clutch, obviously it will start to spin the wheels, and if you stay on the clutch too long then you will insence just be rideing the clutch, which also wastes time, and if you get off the clutch too soon and don't keep the revs up it will drop out of VTEC down to about 4500-5, thats no good...too slow for a V8...at least in my book.

Blessed- Sounds like you can really launch your car (after reading your last post). What mods do you have and what do you run in the 1/4?
Just in case you were curious about 1/4 times and mph for the Cobra. I have the same car and with my intake, catback, x-pipe, and 373's I ran mid 13's @ 103.xx. Also, at that point I think I had approx. 270 rwhp/rwtq.

Anyway, nice kill.

I am suprised no one is calling BS. I believe you but there are some haters here. Those Cobras are pretty fast once modded, but anything can happen on the street. Good Kill

i don't think there is a reason to call bs. i personally have walked 2 cobras one from a stop and one from a 70mph roll. i didn't destroy them but i put a car to 1 1/2 on them and was pulling as we got over 100. there only mods were exhaust. again good runs blessed!
