Default I want an In-Cabin subwoofer!

I have a single 12" in the trunk, sometimes it's nice, sometimes (most times) it could be better. So i'm thinking about changing it with an in-cabin sub. Has anyone done this before? Is there a way a sub could fit in like the lucid rear speakers? Any ideas and help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Use the Aura Bass Shaker for an inexpensive compliment to your 12" in the trunk. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=299-028 Bass you can feel.

^ I agree, a very nice addition. I thought I wouldn't need them anymore after putting a 10" in the cabin, but I missed them and had to add another amp to put them back in the system.

Several owners have done an in-cabin sub and posted about it, but it will take some some searching to find them all.

This might be a good addition to the audio sticky.

At least one owner cut out the floor under the seats (and some of the door sill box frame) put some 10's in the floor. Others have put small 6" woofs in tubes under the dash. A few have put a sub in the passenger footwell area, some on the right side up against the 'wall', and at least one in the angled foot rest area, like this.

I have 7" Dynaudios in the doors, well sealed, and the results are good. I'm researching putting in 8" Dyns for a bit more. It's not like having a big sub, but it's better than you might think. I had a 6" JLAudio sub in an enclosure (bigger than can be put under dash) when I was considering an under dash sub. We put it in the passenger footwell. What I have now with the 7" speakers is almost as good in terms of bass, and gives me the benefit of really good speakers too.

Isn't this a MONUMENTALLY bad idea in a convertible, that probably uses those components for strengthening the structure?

6" sub JL w/ focal utopia's 6.5" components, both running off my PPI 4100

With a combo of both the 6.5", and 6" sub.. it really pounds for what it is... i'm very satisfield with this set up.

My JL 6W0 FINALLY came in so I'll be looking to creatively fit it into the cabin. Now that I have it in hand I can get a feel for what locations will work and what will not. Actually designing and making the custom enclosure will take a little longer.

Here is a good thread about in-cabin subs, including two JL 6W0 installs

s2kmugen, can a passenger get their feet behind (or I guess actually "forward" of) your box? I know for tall-ish passengers it feels more comfortable to have your toes tucked up forward of the A/C component.

And one more question, do you have a grill protecting the sub? I noticed that JL doesn't include them so I wonder what you did to prevent toe holes...
