I was in 5th gear going about 95mph about to shift to 6th gear but instead went to 4th gear. It seems like engine rpm went up to 8K or 8.5K rpm couldn't tell, cause it was less than a second, that i realize i was in wrong gear I think '00 to 03 4th gear max out at 120mph right??? I'm pretty sure that i didn't over rev the engine. What kind of damage can it cause from miss shift but not over rev??

 

95 mph in 4th is fine. Shouldn't be any damage. Just don't do it again.

Thats how I dont have my Mr2 Turbo anymore. Going around a corner at 90mph or so, tried to shift into 4th and keep on the throttle (I couldnt back off at that speed because the momentum would have pulled off the road had i let up). I had so much power on the stock clutch that sometimes it wouldnt want to negotiate shifting into gear, and it decided to be grouchy at this point in time. So I am trying to cram it into 4th gear... it went into 2nd gear breaking the back end out at 90mph, in a corner. Well the rest I suppose you can imagine, it wasnt pretty. But hey, Im here, Im alive and have all my toes and fingers so Im happy.
