In stop & go traffic, if your going at like 7 mph...from neutral would you throw it into 1st or 2nd?

I remember my Integra would lock me out and not allow me to shift from neutral to 1st if going like 5 mph. But I notice the S will allow me to shift.

In stop and go traffic, I alternate between first, second and coasting in neutral.

1st below 10-12. Of course, you usually get up to 20 once in a while so you're shifting quite a bit, at least here in Seattle.

At 7mph i'll put the car in first or else the engine will be lugging too much, unless your rolling down a hill .

I hardly ever use first gear if I'm already moving. Anything above 5mph, I'm going to feather the clutch into second.

It should be noted that *technically* you should never be in neutral while moving. I usually try keeping the car in first until I'm at a complete stop- it reduces so much strain on the drivetrain. It's just about impossible to shift smoothly from N to 1 without either jerking the car or burning the clutch.
