Default Help - Rear Bumper

Can anybody help me? I noticed a couple of days ago that my rear bumper is mis-alligned on the passenger side. Does anyone have a diagram of the rear-bumper assembly? I'm sure a quick removal and re-allignment is all it needs.

At least there are no scratches or dents to the rear...so how did it happen...I don't know but I want it fixed.

Thank you to anyone that can help!

Erik

Don't have a scanner but I'm looking at bumper removal on page 20-91 of the Helm Manual:

1) There are 8 fasteners and several clips holding on the bumper.

2) First remove two phillips head screws- These are located at the front top edge of the bumper (under the car).

3) Half way down the sides, on the inner edge, you will find two clips. Use a flat blade screwdriver (wrapped in tape) to free these.

4) There are 5 more clips (3 on top edge and two under the car) just above and below the license plate frame. Use the same protected screwdriver to raise the center button of these clips, then remove them. The bumper should come clear.

5) Remove the 2 absorbers (foam) and absorber boxes to expose the rear beam.

6) the beam is held on with 8mmx1.25 bolts). Loosen and make level to the ground.

7) Reinstall in the reverse order.

Thank you Utah S2K for coming to my rescue. I think I should invest in the Helm manual...it seems to come in pretty handy.

I've actually scheduled an appointment with the dealer to see if this was covered under warranty. I'm thinking that the bumper may be slightly misaligned due to the stiffness of the suspension and driving. I wonder if others are experiencing the same thing? If they don't cover it, I will follow your steps to remedy the problem myself.

Again - thank you for your assistance in my little dilemma!

Dealer should warranty it.......if your still under it. There are actually three Helm Manuals (Service, Body Repair and Electrical).
I'd recommend the Service one only for the average mechanic:
