Advice on Removing the Rear Bumper
My son got tagged at an intersection the other day. Thanks goodness it was so close that it only slightly touched the rear bumper on the drivers side... it could have been MUCH worse.
He brought it home to show me and I could tell that the seam between the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel (on the drivers side) was seperated by about a quarter of an inch. The bumper was not too bad, but I looked at it from underneath the car and compared it to the other side. There is some bent metal which looks like it can be straighten quite easily.
My question... it wasn't obvious how the seam between the quarter panel and the bumper is held together. So, I though we would try taking off the bumper, straighten the metal piece and re-connect... fixing any other broken clips or whatever. Can any of you guru's give me any advice before I remove the rear bumper?
