Default Oversteer is good for you

Normally I try to be more constructive - but how come half the threads right now in Racing and Competition are of the theme

"Whaaaa momieee the car wants to spin, make it stop"

Not picking on anyone, just don't want to see this become Racing, Competition, and My S2000 Feels Looser Than Paris Hilton in a Tub of Teflon, How Do I Fix It? forum...That stuff's been covered a hundred bazillion times in S2000 Talk and Under the Hood. Wings and bumpsteer kits and that sort of stuff is great if you want to set a lap record, win a race, or improve on a long-standing personal best at a certain track. But for most of us, including slow-pokes like me, the car works really well stock! Try a front bar if you deviate from factory tire stagger. And remember in general, a slightly oversteering car will be faster than a slightly understeering one.

Okay, sorry... ...now back to your regularly scheduled programming, "As the World Plows"...

As the World Plows...

jzr

Funny, it was just a couple days ago I tried to say the same thing in jimmy325's thread. All I have done to my S is X and ST brace and roll bar, plus a good alignment, race pads and fluids and r-compounds. I LOVE IT ON THE TRACK. Neutral handling and the backend comes out just enough to let me know when I'm not driving smooth. I love this car, just the way it is...

My car is absolutely stock running Cobalts, ATE, and RA-1's 205/245 with a bit more camber than stock. It works great at the track, definitely a very lively chassis but I like that. I like a car that does what I ask of it, and lets me know when I ask a bit too much. I hate driving understeering pig around the track.

I so agree. I'm so tired of asshats who insist they car doesn't work perfectly stock and then they get mad when we tell them the biggest problem is the asshat in the seat.

We're all a bunch of haterz here.

Long live the JDM secet sauce.
