Default Engine about to shut off at a complete stop

When I come to a complete stop, and I am in 1st gear with the clutch pedal depressed to the floor, my rpm's DROP to a point where it seems like the engine wants to shut off. Then the shift knob shakes and the rpms go back up to about 900 rpm.

Also, when I start my car, or shut off the car, the shift knob trembles.

This seems to be a problem because it has never occurred before. Does anybody know what this problem is?

Thanks,

Jeff

Because they factory made a mistake and put the Insight engine set up in your S by accident. Come to a stop and hte AutoStop feature kicks in. That's how it works in my Insight.

This is one of the symptoms of a MAP sensor problem. Do a search for "map whack" and you find info galore.

I'm having the same problem with my04...I told my dealer to order me a new map sensor as this might be causing the problem.

Thanks. It was doing it to everyone who viewed this thread and any other that you post in. Now gone.

This has been very distracting to this thread. I'm going back to clean up all the posts dealing with this annoyance (including this one later).
