I just did a delay valve removal to an existing 04 slave cylinder.....anybody do this yet? It's easy, $0.00

This involved swapping an older cylinder onto a newer car. Please have a look and add any comments you can think of.

Billman may be talking about removing the Delay mechanism from the 04 slave cylinder.

 

Correct, Slows2k.....Here it is.....simply remove the shown parts, noting their order....

1 dust boot
2 Snap ring
3 hyd block off plug
4 delay valve screen and spring
5 delay bleed off valve
6 04-09 slave cylinder

-Remove boot 1
-Remove snap ring 2, you will need a very sharp pick to remove the snap ring.
-remove plug 3 with pliers.
-Using a small round punch, insert it in the hole where the brake hose bolt goes, and push out 4 and 5. Sometimes 4 and 5 will come out in one piece, make sure they both come out.

***ELIMINATE 4 and 5***

Re-assemble, bleed with new brake fluid, drive

I have added the pick I used in the process, note the angle. It will make the snap ring removal very easy.

 

Well ..................... YEAH!

Anybody have a very late 03 model? You may have the delayed valve....if the slave cyl is black (cast iron), it is the old style with no delay valve.

If it's silver (aluminum), it is the new style with the delay valve....
