Smoke from the exhaust?
Hi Guys,
After I installed a single exhaust and ran it hard on the track for a weekend, i started noticing blueish whitish (more bluish) smoke coming out of the exhaust about a two weeks later on the way to another track event as i was accelerating out of a toll booth.
During those two weeks in between the track events, i drove my car like a grandma, so could it be just the soot built up in the exhaust from driving it hard on the track, then not driving it hard, then driving it hard again?
I should give you more details tho:
I have a kill switch that turns off the battery and alternator, could it be that because of this the ECU resets itself EVERYTIME i get out of the car, so then everytime i start the car, it will try to relearn, and thus the smoke??
I also have been noticing the same color smoke rarely, but surely under acceleration at no specific time.
I'm really hoping it's either the ecu, or the fact that i drive it like a grandma 90 percent of the time and WOT the other 10% of the time.
Please helllllllp. THANKS

Oh yea, forgot to add:
I recently changed sparkplugs to iridium, but still noticing the smoke.
However when i took off my stock ones, it didn't look like the car was running rich, i would say LEAN even.
HELP!

There are two possibilities depending on the color of the smoke
1) If it is white smoke coming from the exhaust, this most likely is from coolant which has leaking into the motor from a possibly damaged cylinder head gasket, which in turns mixes with the engine oil.
Both of these scenarios are very serious and should be taken care of immediately to prevent any further possible damage. Hope I was able to help a little.

Yeah... what the hell?
Blue-ish smoke is oil burning.
Get a leak-down test conducted on your motor... as well as a standard compression test. My guess is that your piston rings are on their way out.

I also have this problem... HUGE HUGE White Cloud,, BOOOF from the back of the car, Shoots out and you feel drop or some kind of an idle with the engine..... I am Running a supercharged S2000 in a race track... , While braking for a corner, the car acts fine, but when taking the turn and acock, the white cloud is the only thing between me and the poor guy behind me..
I have changed the Plugs, Oil checked gasket, supercharger.. everything... ! Nothing seems to be wrong,,,
But what my mechanic thinks that because of the G-Force of the cornering speed, the oil moves to one side of the engine wall, where it is very hot, and starts to burn!... The theory is that if I place the oil Catch tank, it will reduce or eliminate this white cloud.......
On the other hand, my last track day was fine!... no smoke!.. and I only changed the spark plugs (OEM)
